These GHGs, primarily composed of carbon dioxide (co2), methane (ch4), and nitrous oxide (n2o), contribute to global warming.<\/p><p>The carbon footprint of a country is measured in tons of co2 equivalent (tco2e), allowing for the comparison of the environmental impact of different countries. Costa rica, for instance, is a model in producing 100% renewable electricity.
