Motivations & challenges

Motivation #1

Pollet's CSR approach is part of a corporate culture and vision that combines strong quality, environmental, and social policies.

Pollet combines two strong cultures: a family-oriented, people-focused culture and a culture of continuous improvement. These foundations serve as the basis for a CSR approach that is directly integrated into its corporate vision and translates into a twofold ambition: to improve the overall impact of its products throughout their life cycle and to contribute to the well-being of individuals.

To identify courses of action, set improvement targets, and measure the impact of its initiatives in the short, medium, and long term, Pollet needed to obtain an assessment of its emissions based on a proven methodology and have a system of indicators in place.

Motivation #2

Pollet bases its CSR approach on three sustainable development goals: good health and well-being, clean energy use, and responsible consumption and production. This involves reducing the environmental impact throughout the life cycle of its products. Through its approach, Pollet wanted to analyze its carbon footprint across all physical flows of people and goods throughout the company's value chain and understand the environmental impact of its organization in order to identify levers for action to optimize its environmental performance.

Challenges

Pollet stands out for the specific nature of its activities, particularly due to its use of numerous highly specialized raw materials, which can sometimes be difficult to identify and trace.

What courses of action and areas for consideration emerged during the support provided by D-Carbonize?

With CSR now playing a fundamental role in business development, conducting a carbon assessment allows us to understand where we stand and, above all, how we can contribute on our own scale to more responsible industrial activity. As with any managerial decision, we must first take stock of the situation in order to guide, adapt, or correct our course. This is an important step in defining more responsible actions. D-Carbonize has undoubtedly enabled us to take a major step forward in our CSR plan.
