Context
Traject is a sustainable mobility consultancy. It helps companies and public authorities to build a more sustainable future. To achieve this, it supports its clients from the development of mobility strategies to the implementation of the proposed measures. Traject stands out for its expertise in behaviour change, encouraging a shift in attitudes towards mobility, not only in terms of sustainability, but also in terms of well-being, attracting and retaining staff, and adapting to future changes in society.
Traject is based in Belgium, with offices in Brussels and Ghent.
Wanting to live up to its own ‘walk the talk’ credo, Traject has chosen to work with D-Carbonize to assess its carbon footprint and implement concrete actions to reduce it. In doing so, it strengthens the credibility of the sustainable mobility solutions it offers its customers. Its values are perfectly aligned with those of D-Carbonize, both as an employer and as a consultant.

Challenges
As its carbon footprint is already very good, the levers for action are more limited. However, Traject is determined to continue its improvement next year, making this a real challenge. Another key challenge is to demonstrate how a mobility project can contribute to improving the carbon footprint of a company or public authority.

Results
Like many companies of a similar size and in a similar sector, most of Traject’s greenhouse gas emissions come from purchases, particularly of services.
Thanks to its location, Traject is able to limit emissions linked to mobility and fixed assets. Indeed, the proximity of its offices to railway stations and the presence of suitable infrastructure encourage employees to use public transport or bicycles for their journeys. In addition, open-plan workspaces optimise the use of floor space, reducing the real estate footprint per employee.
In total, Traject’s carbon footprint is 3 tCO2e per employee.
