The AMUREBA Energy Audit

A legal obligation every 4 years for large corporations in Wallonia — and a concrete opportunity to reduce your energy bills and carbon footprint.

What is the AMUREBA audit?

Having come into force on April 1st, 2024, the AMUREBA Walloon Government Decree reforms the framework for energy audits and studies for private companies in Wallonia. It targets three simultaneous objectives:
Higher quality audits
Conducted by certified auditors and supported by a reinforced methodological framework, covering a representative minimum of 80% of your final energy consumption.
Better targeted subsidies
A financial support mechanism tailored to the reality of industrial and service-sector companies, designed to reduce the net cost of your energy efficiency initiatives.
Administrative simplification
Streamlined procedures to reduce compliance burdens and facilitate action, from report submission to the monitoring of recommended measures.

Are you affected ?

The AMUREBA audit targets two types of profiles, each with distinct obligations and opportunities.

LEGAL OBLIGATION

Large Corporations

Every large corporation in Wallonia is legally required to undergo an energy audit every 4 years. An organization is considered a large corporation if it meets at least one of the following criteria:

Non-compliance with this obligation results in ineligibility for Walloon regional subsidies (investment grants, etc.) and exposes the company to financial penalties.

Possible dispensations under certain conditions :

VOLUNTARY INITIATIVE

SMEs & Other Businesses

SMEs are not subject to the mandatory requirement, but they can benefit from AMUREBA subsidies to fund voluntary energy audits or studies. In the context of a sustainable transition regarding energy costs, this is a quickly profitable investment , and a strong signal sent to your clients and partners.
