Diamond
How to integrate CSR into your strategy for a sustainable future
Context
Diamond is a Belgian company that supplies professional catering equipment. Diamond offers a wide range of products, including ovens, grills, HVAC refrigerators and much more. The main challenge for Diamond was to integrate CSR into its strategy and implement more sustainable practices. To achieve this, one of the first steps was to carry out a carbon assessment.
Working with D-Carbonize on our Carbon Footprint made this complex exercise much easier, especially in team involvement, awareness, data collection, and interpretation. We highly recommend having an in-house reference person in charge of this project, who coordinates data collection and liaises with D-Carbonize.

Objectives
Include 1 CSR objective in each manager's objectives for the following year.
Set up a green team to monitor these CSR objectives while implementing other actions.
Reduce their carbon footprint by 8% by 2026.
Method
The choice of methodology is crucial to achieving the defined objectives. For this project, a 10-stage method was adopted, covering a 6-month period and requiring the intervention of 3 consultants. This structured methodology ensured a rigorous and consistent approach at every stage of the process, guaranteeing reliable and lasting results.
Kick-off meeting
The purpose of this kick-off meeting was to raise team awareness and explain the data to be collected. The kick-off session lasted around 1h30.Data collection
Data collection was carried out with the help of a D-Carbonize consultant. Follow-up sessions were organized from time to time to ensure the accuracy and completeness of the information. This second stage lasted 2 months.
Data processing
Data processing was carried out by a consultant using our carbon footprint calculation software. This stage, essential to guarantee the accuracy of the results, took 1 month.
Onboarding the Carbon Cockpit
The aim of onboarding is to present the software to the customer, detailing its functionalities and encoding procedures. This stage lasted 2 weeks, ensuring a thorough understanding and efficient use of the software.
Encoding
Data encoding was mainly carried out by the D-Carbonize consultant, guaranteeing a high level of accuracy and conformity. This crucial stage of the project lasted 2 weeks, ensuring the quality and reliability of the information processed.
Review
To guarantee the veracity of the data and the quality of the encoding, another consultant reviewed the project. This stage lasted 2weeks.
Results
The results of the first carbon audit were presented to the Diamond team during a 2-hour meeting. The session provided an opportunity to discuss the main findings, identify key areas for emissions reduction and plan the next steps to improve environmental impact.
Workshop
The ideation workshop generally lasts between 2 and 3 hours. It invites the employees present to reflect on each dimension in order to propose internal measures to reduce the carbon footprint. The advantage of this format is that it generates realistic and concrete ideas.
Reduction calculations
On the basis of the relevant ideas put forward during the ideation workshop, we estimated the CO2 reduction that could be generated.Final report
D-Carbonize presented the final report, detailing the proposed reduction measures.

“
At the start of my research, not being used to this type of analysis, I spent a lot of time on the details, often for fear of missing something important. This painstaking approach slowed down the process during the first year. However, thanks to D-Carbonize’s explanations and their calculation table, the work became less laborious later on. The tool itself offers a clear, easy-to-understand view of the encoded data. However, some of the fields to be filled in are not always intuitive for the uninitiated. As a result, I believe it’s essential to always have a D-Carbonize referent to provide support and clarify the more technical aspects.”
